New post-doc fellow in Warsaw, Poland
We are happy to welcome a new post-doc fellow in Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center, Warsaw, Poland.
Gergely Hajdu has earned his PhD degree at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and the University of Heidelberg studying the near-infrared light-curve properties of RR Lyrae variables, as well as their distribution in the Galactic disk, alongside Classical Cepheid variables. His current interests mainly lie in the detection and characterization of binary RR Lyrae systems with the aim of determining for the first time the mass of a variable of this class; as well as in utilizing machine learning to resolve problems in variable star research.
