Speaking about measuring distances

If you understand Polish language, we have a treat for you. Araucaria starred in an episode of Astronarium series, the one about measuring distances in our Universe.

Measuring distances in the Universe happens on many scales, and for that we need many different methods, each adequate to the scale it measures. And so we have a space mission Gaia, that determines parallaxes to the nearests stars, and the Araucaria Project that uses variable stars to determine distance moduli to the nearest galaxies. And these are just two first rungs of the cosmic ladder of interlocking methods to determine distances. Find out more about them in this episode of Astronarium “Odległości we Wszechświecie”.
