Congratulations to prof. Pietrzy\u0144ski and the IT team from the Araucaria Project for winning the prestigious European Research Council Proof of Concept grant for the project \u201eToward Autonomous Observatories\u201d (AutObs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grant will be used to further automatise and optimise workflow at the Observatory Cerro Murphy in Chile, increasing the efficacy and efficiency of collecting high-quality data by 30%. And it can be introduced in other observatories, too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smoother observing routines mean more observations, and more observations mean more data to do science with \ud83e\udd29<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Set atop Cerro Murphy, the hill its named after, the observatory, run by the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences (CAMK), currently hosts one infrared telescope and four optical telescopes.
