April has been an eventful month for the Araucaria Project, because we took part in a series of events leading to the local, Chilean inauguration of the Rolf Chini Cerro Murphy Observatory (OCM for short).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
OCM has been inaugurated on November 28, 2023, at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Poland, which is covered in this post<\/a>. That inauguration, although first and very distinguished, was quite remote, as it happened far away from the observatory itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n To create a more in-person experience of the OCM inauguration, a local ceremony was planned at the end of April 2024, and preceded by a few smaller celebrations that built up the excitement for the inauguration day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The first of them was FIDAE \u2013 a biennial international air show held in Santiago, Chile. It is considered the largest and most important aeronautical and space fair in Latin America and the Southern Hemisphere. And this year, on April 11\u201314, 2024, Araucaria Project joined the Polish Trade and Investment Agency’s (PAIH) Foreign Trade Office in Santiago to present the Rofl Chini Cerro Murphy Observatory (OCM)<\/p>\n\n\n\n We were very grateful to have space where we could proudly show OCM to the international public, and very excited to start a new and valuable partnership with the PAIH Foreign Trade Office Manager Adam Pejcha and Ewelina Poleszak.
