{"id":1389,"date":"2020-08-01T12:29:54","date_gmt":"2020-08-01T12:29:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/araucaria.camk.edu.pl\/?p=1389"},"modified":"2024-10-31T01:41:33","modified_gmt":"2024-10-31T01:41:33","slug":"15-years-of-ngc-300-distance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/araucaria.camk.edu.pl\/index.php\/2020\/08\/01\/15-years-of-ngc-300-distance\/","title":{"rendered":"15 years of NGC 300 distance"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This exact day 15 years ago we published a paper that became a setting stone for our long-lasting project on improving the calibration of the cosmic distance scale in the local Universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this paper Wolfgang Gieren et al. published the distance to a beautiful spiral NGC 300 with a relative error as tiny as 3%.
